Rebuild Free mobile app privacy
This notice covers the Rebuild Free iPhone and iPad beta. Android is planned but has not been released, so no Android SDK or Play Store data practice is represented as final.
Last updated: 23 July 2026
Document work is local by default
Scanning, text recognition, editing and the current Rebuild process run on the device. Rebuild does not operate an account system, document cloud, remote document-processing service or training-data upload for the mobile app.
Documents and local app data
Imported files, captures, recognised text, edits, document organisation and preferences are stored inside the app’s local sandbox. They remain there until you delete them in the app, remove the app or the operating system clears temporary data. Keep independent copies of important originals.
Rebuild does not run its own cloud sync or backup. Apple device backups, iCloud Drive, Google Drive and other file providers are separate services controlled by you and their operators. When you choose Share or save to a provider, the exported file is sent to the destination you select.
Permissions
- Camera: used only when you choose to scan a document.
- Photos and files: used when you choose material to import or a destination for an export.
- Tracking choice: iOS may ask whether advertising may use the device’s tracking permission. Declining must not disable document features.
The app does not request location, contacts or microphone access for its document workflow.
Advertising
The iOS project includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK for the planned post-task advertising model. If advertising is enabled in a public release, Google may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, diagnostics and ad interactions to deliver, limit and measure advertising. Document images, filenames, recognised text and exported files must not be sent to the advertising SDK.
Advertising is designed to appear only after completed work, never while scanning, reviewing, editing or rebuilding. Production advertising in the UK or EEA must not be enabled until the required consent choices are implemented.
Learn how Google handles advertising data in its partner-sites information and advertising policy.
App Store purchases
If the optional ad-free plan is offered in your version, Apple processes the payment and subscription account. Rebuild receives the product and entitlement status needed to provide the purchase; it does not receive your payment-card details. A local flag may be kept to remember the last verified ad-free state while offline.
Support messages
If you email support, JJ Bros Studio receives the address, message and any information you deliberately include. Do not attach a private document unless support has first explained why it is needed and how it will be handled. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, keep an appropriate business record or meet a legal obligation.
Your choices and deletion
- Delete individual documents from the local Files workspace.
- Remove saved signatures and initials through the app’s forget action.
- Change camera, photo, file and tracking permissions in device settings.
- Remove the app to delete its app-local sandbox from that device.
- Contact support about information you deliberately sent in a support message.
There is no Rebuild account to delete. Files already shared to another app, person or cloud provider must be managed at that destination.
Android status
No Android application, Android package identifier or Google Play listing exists today. Before an Android test or public release, this notice and the Play Data safety declaration must be updated against the actual Android build, permissions, SDKs and advertising configuration.
Contact
Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected]. For troubleshooting, use the app support page. This notice must be updated before Rebuild adds accounts, its own cloud storage, remote document processing or materially different third-party SDKs.
