Privacy policy
What happens to files and information when you use Rebuild.
Last updated: 27 July 2026
Who runs Rebuild
JJ Bros Studio Ltd operates Rebuild and is responsible for the personal information described here. Send privacy requests through the contact page.
Your files
Web tools process selected files in your browser. Rebuild does not upload the file, filename, contents or extracted text. The result is created on your device.
Files and results may remain in the tab until you remove them, refresh the page or close it. Downloads are saved to the location chosen by your browser.
OCR language files
The OCR engine and common language files are served from Rebuild. If you choose a language that is not bundled with the website, your browser downloads that Tesseract language file from jsDelivr. The selected document is not included in that request.
jsDelivr may receive the requested language code and ordinary network information such as an IP address and browser details. The language file may then be cached by your browser for later use.
Language preference
A necessary language-preference cookie remembers which language you chose. It is not used for analytics or advertising.
Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics is optional and stays off until you choose Allow. If allowed, it measures pages, device information and actions such as starting, completing or downloading from a tool. Tool events use a fixed tool name and, where useful, a result count.
Rebuild does not send documents, filenames, extracted text or result names to Analytics. Google may process ordinary network information, including an IP address. Your choice is saved in this browser and can be changed at any time.
Separately, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate public-page loads, performance, page paths and referring sites. Its beacon uses no cookies or browser storage, omits URL query strings and does not track people across Cloudflare customer sites. Rebuild does not send selected documents, filenames, extracted text, result names or account identifiers to this service.
Rebuild uses Google AdSense on tool pages. Google may receive your IP address, browser, device details and the page requested. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar storage to deliver, measure and protect ads.
Advertising requests never include document files, filenames, extracted text or tool results. A Google-certified consent message is used where required. Read more in Google’s explanation of data from partner sites.
Contact messages
When you send the contact form, your name, reply email, selected topic, message, language and the page address are sent to FormSubmit so it can deliver the message to Rebuild support.
Use the form only for support and general questions. Do not include passwords, payment details, confidential documents or sensitive personal information. Rebuild uses the message and reply address to respond to your request. Read the FormSubmit privacy policy.
Hosting
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. It may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser details, requested path and security events. Document contents are not included in those requests.
Why this information is used
The legal basis depends on the feature and the law that applies:
- Browser document processing happens on your device, so Rebuild does not receive the selected document.
- The language cookie and security requests are used where necessary to provide and protect the service, and for Rebuild's legitimate interest in running a reliable website.
- Optional account data is used to provide the account service; contact details are used to answer your request; limited records may be used to meet legal obligations or handle fraud and disputes.
- Optional analytics relies on your choice. Advertising storage and personalisation follow the consent controls shown by Google where required.
How long information is kept
Rebuild keeps information only for the purpose described or where a legal, security or dispute reason requires it:
- Selected files remain in the current tab until you remove them, refresh or close it. Rebuild has no server copy to retain.
- The language cookie lasts up to 12 months. Your analytics choice remains in this browser until you change it or clear browser storage.
- Cloudflare keeps unsampled beacon data for seven days before aggregation; aggregate Web Analytics reports are available for up to six months. Rebuild no longer stores its own usage counters or repeat-visitor identifiers.
- Contact messages are kept while the request and reasonable follow-up are handled. Service providers may keep security, delivery or legal records under their own published policies.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. You can change analytics from the Analytics choices button and manage account history or deletion from the account page when accounts are available.
Email the address above to make a privacy request. You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live. Rebuild may need enough information to verify a request before acting on it.
Service providers and international transfers
Cloudflare, Google, Supabase, FormSubmit and jsDelivr may process ordinary service information in countries outside your own. Their published privacy notices describe the locations and safeguards they use. Rebuild does not send selected document files or extracted document text to these providers.
Changes and questions
We will update this policy when the way Rebuild handles data changes. See the mobile privacy policy for the iPhone and iPad app. Use the contact page for privacy questions.
