Rebuild is a document platform from JJ Bros Studio. It combines practical tools people can use today with a longer-term reconstruction system for physical and flattened documents.
The problem
A conventional scan often preserves appearance but leaves the page as an image. Basic OCR may add searchable words without recreating the document’s layout, forms, tables, artwork or meaning. That is useful, but it is not the same as recovering a genuine digital document.
The approach
Rebuild is designed as a modular reconstruction platform: capture quality, restoration, recognition, layout analysis, domain routing, validation, confidence and editable export can improve independently. The source remains part of the record, and uncertain content should be identified rather than invented.
The standard
The aim is consumer-level simplicity with professional document discipline: clear outcomes, preserved originals, accessible controls, useful output and honest limits. Adobe, Canva and established PDF utilities set a high bar for breadth and polish. Rebuild’s job is to meet that usability standard while going deeper on faithful reconstruction and local control.
