Rebuild opens and processes the document in this browser. The site loads its own files over the network. Your selected document is not sent to a processing server.
Where processing happens
Rebuild's supported PDF, image and text tools run in this browser. Your device supplies the processor and memory needed to open the source, perform the selected operation and prepare the downloadable result.
The selected document is not sent to Rebuild or another processing service. The work begins after the browser reads the local file and ends when you save the result or close the tool.

What stays on your device
Rebuild does not receive the selected document, its filename, extracted text or the file produced by the tool. Those items remain within the local browser session and the download location you choose.
The editor may keep temporary work in this browser so a tab can recover after an interruption. Recovery data is local to that browser profile and is not copied to a Rebuild processing server.

Network requests
Using an on-device tool does not make the website itself offline. The site still requests pages, scripts, fonts and, when required, an OCR language file. These requests do not contain the selected document.
The host receives ordinary connection information needed to deliver the site, such as an IP address and browser headers. Consented analytics or advertising may add separate requests described in the privacy policy.

- Opening a file from a cloud-storage provider is a separate exchange governed by that provider.
Accounts and storage
Core PDF tools can be used without creating an account. When a task finishes, the browser saves the new file to its normal download folder or another location you select; Rebuild does not keep a backup copy.
Closing or refreshing a tool ends the active session. If the editor offered recovery, use its close or clear control when the work should not remain available to other people using the same browser profile.

Performance and limits
Processing speed depends on the device, browser and source document. Image-heavy scans require more memory and processor time than short digital PDFs, particularly during OCR, rendering and compression.
Each tool states its current file, page or image limits before processing. A very large document may still exceed the memory available to the browser even when it falls within a listed file-size limit.
- Keep the tab open while a task is running.
- Use a current desktop browser for large or image-heavy documents.
- Split a document into smaller batches if the device cannot complete it in one pass.
Finish and check the result
Open the downloaded file in a second PDF reader before sending, filing or deleting anything. Confirm that every expected page is present and that text, images, links, forms and signatures still work as intended.
Keep the source until the result has been checked. Recognition and conversion can change reading order, punctuation, fonts or image quality, so review important names, dates, totals and reference numbers against the original.

- Search and copy a known line when searchable text matters.
- Inspect every area that was edited, signed, filled or redacted.
