Provide the current PDF password
The tool removes encryption only after the correct password is supplied. It does not recover, guess or bypass a missing password, and an incorrect password ends the operation without producing a file.
Use it only for a PDF you are authorised to open and save without protection. Typical examples include statements, payslips or policies that you already receive with a known password.
Prepare an open copy for other workflows
An unlocked copy can be indexed by desktop search, merged with other PDFs and opened by preview tools or printers that do not handle encrypted documents. These workflows remain separate from the protected source.
Removing encryption may also help an authorised colleague or family member use a document without receiving its password. Store the open copy only where the existing device or document system supplies suitable access control.
Decrypt and check the output
The protected file is decrypted in this browser with the supplied password and rewritten without encryption. The result is reopened and checked page by page before the download is offered.
The password is used on this device and is not sent to Rebuild. The downloaded copy is an ordinary unencrypted PDF that can be searched, merged and printed where those operations are supported.
Store the unprotected copy appropriately
The source encrypted PDF remains unchanged, but the new copy no longer requires its password. Save that copy to an encrypted disk, private drive or approved document system when the contents require restricted access.
To replace an existing password, unlock the authorised source and protect the open result with a new password. Check both outputs before deleting any source or intermediate copy.
Before using the unlocked file as an archive copy, open it in another reader, confirm the page count and inspect any text, forms, attachments or links required by the next workflow. Compare several pages with the protected source so changes caused by an unsupported PDF feature are found before filing.
