Edit digital and scanned PDFs
Open a PDF, change supported content and save a new copy. Digital pages and scanned pages use different editing paths inside the same workspace.
Open the PDF you already have
Digital PDFs may contain selectable text, form fields, links and separate page objects. Scanned PDFs usually contain page images, even when an invisible OCR layer makes some words searchable.
The editor checks what the page contains and offers the relevant controls. The original file is not overwritten, and files up to 200 pages or 200 MB can open in the browser workspace.
Change selectable text
Click supported text, type the correction and keep the edited wording selectable and searchable. When the PDF provides a usable embedded font, the editor can retain that face for the changed text.
PDFs can store text in unusual ways, including custom character mappings, clipped content and repeated page objects. When a direct text edit cannot be preserved safely, the editor uses a visible page-image replacement for that page and leaves the other pages unchanged.
Recognise printed text in scans
Use Recognise text on a scanned page to find printed words and prepare editable areas. Choose the printed language when automatic detection is uncertain, then review words marked for attention against the page image.
Clear, upright print gives the best result. Handwriting, stamps, glare, folds, decorative lettering and text over photographs may not edit cleanly, so those regions need a careful visual check or a manual replacement.
Sign, fill and organise
Add a signature, drawing, highlight, comment, image, link, shape or supported form field without moving the PDF into another tool. Redaction removes covered content from the exported page; blur is only visual obscuring.
Use the page rail to reorder, rotate, duplicate, import or delete pages. Undo and redo cover document changes, while local recovery can keep a working copy in this browser if the tab closes unexpectedly.
Save and check the finished PDF
Save creates a new PDF and keeps the source file unchanged. Before download, the editor checks that the result can be opened and that the expected pages are present in the exported copy.
Open the downloaded PDF in another reader and inspect every changed area. Search or copy important text, test links and form fields you rely on, and keep the original until the finished file has passed that review.
Processing and current limits
Opening, recognition, editing and export run in this browser, and the selected document is not uploaded to a processing server. Performance depends on the memory and processing power available on the device.
Password-protected files must be opened with the valid password. Editing a certified or digitally signed PDF can invalidate its certification, so retain the signed original and work on a separate copy when appropriate.
