A two-page UK CV

Page one gives the reader your name, contact details, short profile, core skills and recent employment. Page two continues earlier experience and gives education, training and additional information enough room to remain legible.

Both pages are laid out for you, and text stays on the page where you put it. Shorten, resize or move a section when your own wording needs more room.

  • Contact details and professional profile
  • Skills matched to the role
  • Reverse-chronological employment history
  • Education, training and references statement

Write for the vacancy

Use the language and evidence in the job advert. Replace broad responsibilities with concise examples of what changed because of your work, using numbers only when they are accurate and meaningful.

The National Careers Service recommends clear headings, consistent styling and easy-to-read type. It also says not to include age, date of birth, marital status or nationality in the contact section.

Check the final application copy

Proofread every name, date and link, then compare the CV with the vacancy again. Save PDF when layout stability matters. DOCX remains editable but uses positioned page objects rather than natural Word reflow, so reopen it before submitting.

If you already have a CV as Word, PDF, scan, photo or screenshot, open that file in the editor instead.

About this template

Does this CV flow automatically onto another page?

No. Both pages are already designed for you, and text stays on the page you put it on. Shorten or move a section when it needs more room.

Is this CV suitable for every UK role?

It is a general UK starting structure. Tailor the profile, evidence, ordering and terminology to the specific vacancy and profession.

Should I include a photo or date of birth?

The template does not include them. National Careers Service guidance says the contact section should not include age, date of birth, marital status or nationality.

Can I edit an existing CV instead?

Yes. Open a PDF, DOCX, JPG, PNG or WebP, including a scan or screenshot, and continue in the same editor without uploading the document.
