Separate price from scope
The estimate keeps supplier and customer details, project context, line items, totals, scope notes and approval in distinct areas. That makes assumptions and exclusions visible beside the price.
Every amount is editable text. Recalculate quantity multiplied by rate, tax and total independently before sending.
Define what can change
State what is included, what is excluded, how long the estimate remains valid, when work may start and how additional work will be approved. Replace all examples with the terms you intend to offer.
Keep estimate and invoice distinct
An estimate describes expected work and price; it is not an invoice or proof of payment. Use the appropriate later document when work is approved, billed or paid, and check any state or industry requirements that apply.
